I was researching bone readings when I came across this article, I loved it instantly. What better way to do an oracle then to come up with your own, putting your own meaning to the pieces. There is a certain joy that comes with coming across a piece that would be perfect for your own bone collection, as well as a sense of accomplishment at creating your own throwing mat, the best part about the throwing mat is it can follow your traditions and paths.
So I set out to create my own bones, to put together my collection divination, so far these are my pieces and the meanings I attributed to them;
An old Caribbean coin - hidden treasure, finding something that was lost
Chicken wish bone - Wishes, wants, desires
Bacculum - male virility, a strong male figure
Cowery shell - the feminine essence
Pork bone - sustenance, substance
Rose Quartz -love
Holy stone - The divine, creator energies
Black stone - a burden
Sharks tooth -Danger, unwanted guests
Key - Openings, new adventures
Petrified wood - endurance, stability
Coin - money matters
A Cameo with a ship - travel, movement
my mothers ring - family matters
a wooden skull - Spirit work, spirit matters

Not only can you attribute each piece the way you like but you can also set your map up to designate certain spots, for instance my mat is a large circle with 4 points, Black, White, East, and West, so that depending on how the objects land I can determine their significance in the persons life. Good luck with your own collection divination and read this woman's points of view on it, it is really an excellent article.
