So I thought I'd talk a little bit about my approach to lovecraftian magic and some of the main ideas you'll be focusing on, if you choose to practice this magic.
I imagine you already know a little about lovecraft and his work. There are those who claim the gods are little more than thoughtforms and those, like myself, who have managed to reach past the thoughtforms and contact the gods themselves.
My approach to this was to create magical focal points around my head, to channel in the energy and more effectively communicate with the pantheon. I called these focal points eyes because they help the mage scry into the cosmos and perceive what the lovecraftian pantheon show you.
The eyes relate to different gods, depending where on your head they are.
Eyes towards the back relate to nyralathotep, eyes in the middle are Azathoth's and the eyes at the front are yog sothoths. There is some overlap in the areas and the other members of the pantheon use a combination of the three areas.
I've found the best way to focus my attention on the eyes is to wewr a blind fold or cover my eyes with the backs of my hands ( the front direct too much energy).
The eyes are first obtained through the invocation of Azathoth. This can be tricky as you must channel past the barrier created by the star's light.
I'll leave it there for now, I have written all my findings down so I can share more if people are interested.
