Left And Right Hand Path
by Leanea

There is a lot of controversy on what is the ''left-hand path'' and what is the ''right-hand path'' and what falls under both of those categories. In this article, I will explain the findings of my research in this article!

~The Left-Hand Path~
The left-hand path is known as the selfish path of the craft. This includes curses and hexes. Black magic (which includes spells such as death spells, hurt spells, nightmare spells, and revenge spells) falls under the left-hand path. Most people consider spells that go against people's right to free will are considered left-hand or black magic. Most spells that are found under the left-hand path are pretty dangerous, and can backfire easily and with much consequences. Left-hand magic is frowned upon by some traditions, and accepted in others. ?On the left hand path we take the direct route, which is much more strenuous, much more dangerous, and much more likely to cause you to fall.? says Zeena Schreck, author of 'Demons of the Flesh: The Complete Guide to Left Hand Sex Magic'.

~The Right-Hand Path~
The right-hand path is known as the path more for enlightenment in the craft. This path includes more healing and white magic spells (spells such as cure spells, healing spells, peace spells, and dream spells.) Spells used on the right-hand path usually don't force people to lose their own free will, and instead of hurting them, helps them. ?Therefore, let there be beauty and strength, power and compassion, honor and humility, mirth and reverence within you.? Says Doreen Valiente.

~How To Decide~
Ultimately, the choice is up to you. You decide if a certain spell falls under the right-hand path, or the left-hand path. However, I would consider what your intent is. If it is to harm someone, most likely, it is the left-hand path. If it is to help someone, then most likely it falls under the right-hand path.

~Where Love Spells Fall~
Some people consider love spells left-hand magic, or black magic. However, there is a fine line to this. A love spell might fall under left-hand magic if they lose all of their free will. For example, if you put a spell on them to do something as drastic as leaving their wife/husband and falling hopelessly in love with you, you might want to consider that left-hand magic. However, if it is just a small spell to gain a date, that might be more acceptable. Again, it is all your personal view.
