My brother recently went on a trip to visit our family in china. I phoned him yesterday and we started chatting. I complained about a migraine problem
I had and he gave me the following recipe for some type of butter tea. He told me the locals in the village used it as a cure all potion type drink. The recipe is very simple but it works. It also tastes delicious. He told me to put three cups if water in a pan with half a tablespoon of tea leaves. Then, I was to boil it. When it boiled, I removed the leaves and brought it down to a simmer. Next, you're supposed mix in a tiny spoonful(mabey half a teaspoon) of salt and half a cup if milk. Finally, add 1 tablespoon of butter. Apparently, they insisted on useing clarrified butter for some superstitious reason but I used ordinary butter and it worked just the same. Stir it untill the butter is melted. Remove from the stove and whisk for a minute untill it make a light froth. Serves 3-4. He is currently friends with a local store owner who also happens to be very knowledgable in traditional healing. Alot of the info he's given ke us pretty interesting and I'll be sure to type it up when I have more time.
