There are three representations of the goddess; they are the mother, the maiden, and the crone. The crone is the representation of the goddess as an elder, and a wise woman. She is also the representation of the witch and the matriarch. She is one of the most misunderstood of the three representations. She is the ending of life, and the promise of a new beginning.
She is wisdom, visions, guidance, and the goddess of death, magic and the spirit realm. She is also known as the spirit seer and healer. The crone may not be sound in body but at this time she is at the peak of her spiritual power. She is the sorceress who creates her will through the magic that she weaves. The crone is also the goddess of transformation and is the destroyer who?s? destruction allows for new growth.
She is the waning moon, of fulfillment and endings, and her color is black. She is also associated with the seasons of Autumn and Winter . The best time to summon the crone goddess is during the waning moon and/or when performing magic for banishing, the ending of something that is no longer desired, or to fulfill a specific need you or someone you know needs to have completed. She is also good to call upon when you are facing a hardship, or fear. Hekate is one of the well known representations of the crone. She comes from Greek mythology, and is the goddess of the underworld and magic
